Android does not
differentiate between the phone’s core applications and third-party
applications. They can all be built to have equal access to a phone’s
capabilities providing users with a broad spectrum of applications and
services. With devices built on the Android Platform, users are able to fully
tailor the phone to their interests. They can swap out the phone's homescreen,
the style of the dialer, or any of the applications. They can even instruct
their phones to use their favorite photo viewing application to handle the
viewing of all photos.
Android provides access
to a wide range of useful libraries and tools that can be used to build rich
applications. For example, Android enables developers to obtain the location of
the device, and allows devices to communicate with one another enabling rich
peer–to–peer social applications. In addition, Android includes a full set of
tools that have been built from the ground up alongside the platform providing
developers with high productivity and deep insight into their applications.

I failed to score a good percentage in my intermediate. I worked hard for it but scored less than what I expected.
From my failures I have
learnt to analyze myself and find out my shortcomings. Those shortcomings are
the areas of future improvement for me and I have undertaken seriously to

About Mark Elliot Zuckerberg and facebook
Mark Elliot Zuckerberg (born May 14, 1984) is an American computer programmer and Internet entrepreneur. He is best known as one of five co-founders of the social networking site Facebook. Zuckerberg is the chairman and chief executive of Facebook, Inc.Zuckerberg's personal wealth is estimated to be $9.4 billion as of 2012.
Born and raised in
New York state, Zuckerberg began writing software as a hobby in middle school,
with help from his father and a tutor (who called him a prodigy). In high
school, he excelled in classic
literature and fencing while studying at Phillips Exeter Academy. Zuckerberg
later attended Harvard College,
majoring in computer science and psychology. In his sophomore year, he wrote a notorious application
that he called Facemash that allowed students on the college's
network to vote on the relative attractiveness of other students. It was shut
down within days, and led to disciplinary action.
He launched
Facebook from his dormitory room. With the help of friends, he took Facebook to
other campuses nationwide and soon after moved to Palo Alto, California. By
2007, Facebook had made him a billionaire at the age of 23. By 2010, Facebook had an estimated 500
million users worldwide and reached 1 billion in 2012. Zuckerberg was involved
in various legal disputes initiated by others who claimed a share of the
company due to their help in setting it up.Since 2010, Zuckerberg has been
named among the 100 wealthiest and most influential people in the world by Time magazine's Person of the Year. In 2010, a fictionalized account of
Zuckerberg's life was made into a film, The Social Network.
Facebook is the second largest social network
on the web, behind only MySpace in terms of traffic. Primarily focused
on high school to college students, Facebook has been gaining market share, and
more significantly a supportive user base. Since their launch in February 2004,
they've been able to obtain over 8 million users in the U.S. alone and expand
worldwide to 7 other English-speaking countries, with more to follow. A growing
phenomenon, let's discover Facebook.
Facebook
is a massively successful social networking service that grew to prominence in
virtually no time. It's not hard to see why: its features and tools are highly
appealing, and Facebook users are extremely well networked in real life. Rumors
of an acquisition continue to circulate, with some estimates putting the price
in the billions of dollars. In the short term, however, Facebook plans to go it
alone, continuing to build out one of the world's most successful social
networks.

Wowzapp 2012-Microsoft’s Windows Apps
Three weeks ago,
Microsoft announced
that it would hold a free global hackathon in over 100 cities around the globe. November
9 is the first day of this “Wowzapp 2012” event, and Microsoft just announced that it has
managed to attract over 17,000 developers – many of them students – who are
currently working on their Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and Windows Azure apps
with the help of mentors from Microsoft. The event is scheduled to run until
November 11.
Participants in
the United States, India, Finland, Pakistan, Greece, Malaysia, Turkey, Brazil
and many other countries will work together for 48 hours, creating Windows
Store apps for consumers to enjoy, building off the momentum of the release of
Windows 8, which saw sales of more than 4 million upgrades in the three days
following its launch on Oct. 26.
U.S. locations
include Austin, Texas; Ann Arbor, Mich.; Redmond, Wash.; and more than 20
others. A complete list of participating locations is posted at http://www.WOWZAPP2012.com.
"With more
than 17,000 students registered to participate, WOWZAPP 2012 will be the
largest simultaneous hackathon of student developers ever, acting as a catalyst
to bring a wealth of new, exciting and quality apps to the Windows Store,"
said Moorthy Uppaluri, general manager of Worldwide Academic Programs at
Microsoft. "Microsoft is committed to empowering students with the tools
and resources they need to showcase their creativity and make money through app
development."
With the global
youth unemployment rate at 12.7 percent* — double the overall unemployment rate
— students are seeking new ways to build their skills and start their careers.
Microsoft offers students a variety of programs to help them learn new app
development skills and differentiate themselves in a competitive job market.
WOWZAPP 2012 is a chance for students to explore a different professional path,
and is just one way that Microsoft is equipping students with free tools and
resources to build apps.
Microsoft will
provide students at each hackathon location with free software to create apps,
such as Visual Studio Express for Windows 8, and with free Windows Store
registration codes through Microsoft DreamSpark. Developer experts and
trainers will be available around the clock to answer questions, and Microsoft
executives such as Uppaluri and Drew Robbins, director, Technical Evangelism,
will be on hand at many locations to discuss what it takes to build great apps
for the Windows ecosystem.
Den Delimarsky, a
student at Wichita State University in the United States, is one of three
developers who created the official Microsoft WOWZAPP 2012 app, which is
currently available on the Windows Store. Besides keeping up with his
schoolwork, Delimarsky is a Microsoft Student Partner and is also in the middle
of building two additional Windows Store apps. He said, "The Windows Store
provides a great opportunity for both professional and student developers
worldwide. WOWZAPP 2012 is a part of that opportunity, and I am excited to see
what new applications will be added as a result of this event to the Windows 8
ecosystem."
Students can also
choose to enter the apps they create in Microsoft's annual technology
competition, Imagine Cup,
where they will be eligible to compete for a total of $300,000 in prize money.

Why linux os better than windos os?
Linux is an
open-source Operating System. People can change codes and add programs to Linux
OS which will help use your computer better. Linux evolved as a reaction to the
monopoly position of windows. you can't change any code for windows OS. You
can't even see which processes in windows. Linux user's can edit its OS and
design new OS.
All
flavors of Windows come from Microsoft. Linux come from different companies
like LIndows , Lycoris, Red Hat, SuSe, Mandrake, Knopping, Slackware. The most
important thing is Linux is freely available for desktop or home use but
Windows is expensive.
Linux And Windows Top 5 Os Distribution:
Top 5 linux os distribution:
- Ubuntu.
- Debian.
- Fedora.
- CentOS.
- Red Hat.
Top 5 windows os distribution:
- Windows 95.
- Windows XP.
- Windows 98.
- Windows 7.
- Windows Millennium Edition.
Lets us see the major 10 reasons linux is best..:
1.
Software repositories
Having
all the software you need in one place saves you having to trawl the web to
find the program you're missing. It also means the software has been
independently checked and digitally signed by the distro's developers, making
it almost impossible to pick up a root-kitted version.
2.
Powerful shell
While
some criticise Linux for its use of the shell, this really is a powerful
advantage. Easy GUIs are good, and we need to be able to carry out standard
administration and configuration tasks using a GUI, but sometimes a shell can
be so much faster and more flexible, unlike a DOS box.
3.
Multiple desktops
Have
you ever watched a Windows user trying to juggle several programs and windows
on screen at once, assuming they have enough resources to run several programs?
Multiple desktops makes it easy to have many programs and windows open all at
once, but only have to deal with the ones you are using right now.
For
example, you could have your email and internet on one desktop, a game on
another, and the work you're supposed to be doing on another. A flick of the
mouse is all that's required to switch between them.
4.
Drivers included
Some
claim that Windows 7 supports more hardware than Linux. In fact, the reverse is
true. Windows 7 supports very little hardware – most hardware requires you to
install drivers from the manufacturer.
On
the other hand, the majority of hardware is supported directly by the Linux
kernel, so you can just plug and play – this is one of the reasons live CDs
work so well.
5.
Runs on any platform
Linux
runs on just about any hardware you can name, from mobile phones to
supercomputers. The open source nature of the kernel and software means it can
be ported to another architecture by a third party if the existing developers
see no need. The end user doesn't need to care about the underlying hardware.
6.
Security
Linux
is inherently more secure than Windows, because security is a feature of the
core system, not a boltedon afterthought. With a firewall at the heart of the
kernel and the virtual impossibility of slipping malware into the software
repositories, a Linux computer can devote all its resources to running your
programs, rather than being bogged down with security programs running all the
time.
7.
Lack of malware
Malware
is virtually unheard of on Linux. This is mainly down to the open source nature
of the software. If you install from your distro's repositories, you know the
software has been checked by them.
8.
Thousands of programs included
A
Linux distro is not just an operating system; it comes with thousands of free
applications. While other systems consider a desktop, web browser and mailer to
be all you need, a typical Linux distro includes everything you could possibly
want: internet tools, office software, multimedia and games. If it's not on the
installation disc, there are thousands more available for download.
9.
No reinstallations
When
problems occur in Linux, they can be fixed directly. You don't even need to
reinstall when you want to update to the latest version of your distro.
10.Server Security
Linux
and open-source applications are popular in the Internet-facing extranet of the
enterprise, Cox notes. And Linux has become a kind of industrial technology for
vendors which use it in a wide range of products and services — for instance
Amazon's EC2 computing environment data centers rely on Xen-based Linux servers.
